Ame ni mo Makezu 2

eating just a bit  of brown rice
miso and some vegetables a day

counting yourself last and always put others first
watching , listening and understanding well
and never forgotten those things

In the shadows of the pine groves in the fields
living under a little thatched roof

In the East, if there is a sick child
go there and take care of him
In the East, if there is a exhausted mother
go there and shouldering the sheaf of rice

In the South, if there is a person near to death
go there and tell him "Don't be afraid"
In the North, there is a quarrel and a lawsuit
go there and tell them "Stop it because it's worthless"

In a drought, shedding tears
In a cold summer, being in a tizzy
being called a "good-for-nothing"
not being praised
not being blamed
Such a person
I want to be

FYI: Ame ni mo Makezu (a famous poem written by Kenji Miyazawa)
